Hockey

Paarl Boys’ Primary offer a healthy hockey programme. We strive to give our boys quality coaching by equipping our coaches with the needed training and resources. Individual attention to develop each player is a priority.

All our teams have two sessions per week on Paarl Boys’ Astro turf, on the school premises. Mondays and Wednesdays are hockey training days. Most of our league games are played on a Wednesday. and we try to secure additional fixtures on Fridays with schools in the Helderberg and Northern suburb area.

Mini hockey:

During school time our u.7 and u.8 boys follow a hockey skills programme twice a week. These sessions are aimed at developing basic skills. In addition to this they also have team practice twice a week where they focus more on structural game play and just having fun! We also host an annual u.7 and  8 hockey tournament every year where we invite neighboring schools. Our Grade R’s have their own hockey skills “fun-day”, where they receive a medal and a certificate.

u.9 to u.13 Hockey:

Every year we host an u.9 and 10 tournament, an u.11 tournament and an u.13 tournament.

Our aim is to give every player as many opportunities as possible to play and further develop their skills no matter what team they play for.

Our u.13 A and B teams tour to the Southern Cape every year. This is always one of our highlights as the boys do not only play hockey, but enjoy teambuilding activities and make memories.
